How To Reduce Dark Circles Under Eyes

Natural Remedies for Dark Under-Eye Circles

There are a number of natural remedies that can be applied to help reduce under-eye circles. Some work better for certain cases than other. Be aware that the first you try may not work for you.

• Cucumber Slices- Try placing thickly sliced cucumbers over your eyes. Do this daily while lying down for 10-15 minutes. Keep your eyes closed.
• Cool Tea Bags or Ice Cubes Wrapped in a Cloth- Use the same method as the cucumbers.
• Potato- Place an uncooked potato into a liquidizer. Scoop out the pureed potato and place it on your eyes. Keep it there for at least 30 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.
• Frozen Spoon- Put a metal spoon in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Remove it and place it on the dark circles until the spoon warms up.

Other Under-Eye Remedies

In addition to the natural remedies suggested above, there are a number of other remedies that can help to reduce your under-eye problems.

• Sleep- It is essential that you get enough sleep each night if you want to get rid of under-eye circles. Most people need 7-9 hours each night. You know how much is necessary for your body.
• Eat well balanced, healthy meals and snacks- A well balanced diet includes vitamins and adequate hydration. A B-12 deficiency is often related to dark circles. Reducing your salt intake could also have positive effects.
• Creams and cosmetic solutions- First, you must make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the creams or make-ups you are currently using, this may be causing the problem in the first place.
o Creams containing Vitamin K and Retinol often work the best.
o Cosmetics work for cover-up, but you must make sure to match your skin tone.
o Overnight masks are great for those who want to treat the condition while they sleep. You can use something as simple as a wet washcloth draped over your eyes.
• Milk- Using milk applied directly do the dark circles with a cotton swab has been praised an excellent cleanser for the harsh makeup products many women apply daily.

It is important to remember, as mentioned earlier that not every treatment will work for everyone and some may worsen your condition. It is important to see a medical doctor before you decide which to use.
